For many women, periods are an inconvenient part of life. But for the 500 million women and girls who lack access to menstrual products or face cultural stigma around menstruation, the consequences can be far more significant.
Many miss work or school while managing their periods, losing income or falling behind in their education. They may also miss important social, cultural, and community events, leading to isolation and loneliness.
